'which one'?

Hello,

I was in a room with other guys for a presentation. A guy reading the slide says,

-I don't know why it says ATDD concepts..
-Which one?
-There (points with a finger)
-Ah, ok

Does that question make any sense to you?
I work with Indian folks who would fire that question every time they don't understand/misheard the question.

I would ask 'where?'

If there is only one slide on show, then "Which one?" doesn't make sense in my variant of English. If the person can't see where it says "ATDD concepts", then the question should be "Where [does it say that]?" I don't understand what "Which one?" is supposed to refer to.

Then I can only assume that for some reason "Which one?" has become a sort of cover-all question in Indian English, meaning "What?" or "I don't understand". However, I am only basing that on the final sentence of your first post. Someone more familiar with Indian English will have to clarify.

At a push, perhaps they meant (in the situation you cited) "Which line contains the words ATDD concepts?"
