Would you be kind enough to tell me whether I must to supplement at all cost “while” in the beginning of the following sentences?

(While) Reading he uses to make notes.
(While) Translating a scientific article, he met with many difficulties.
(While) Measuring the voltage we use a voltmeter.

I think, the first and second are Ok with ‘While’ though 'during' is more suitable for the 2nd. However, I would prefer 'for' in the 3rd one.
