Hello!

I don't understand why I have to use the word 'with' at the end of the sentence.

e.g. Who did Amanda break up with?

Cheers,
Tito

"To break up with" is a set phrase meaning "to separate from" when talking about relationships.

The statement would be "Amanda broke up with Steve" so the interrogative needs to retain all parts of the verb "break up with".
