Hello,

“In this manner, I condemn the aggression of Israel. May God rest the souls of our Palestinian brothers who have been martyred, and I wish well to those who are wounded"

Source:http://www.hurriyetdailynews.com

This is the translation of the remarks by Devlet Bahçeli, an opposition leader in the Turkish parliament. What he literally said is the following: "[...] wish speedy recovery to those who are wounded." But the daily translated it as "wish well". Can one "wish well" to the wounded?

Can I say "I wish Rover_KE recovery well from the accident of someone trying to drive to kill him"?

There is a subtle difference here.

When you "wish a speedy recovery" you are referring only to their wounds.

When you "wish well to" someone in this context, I would say not only are you hoping that they recover from their injuries but also you hope that they do well in their future endeavors.
