In the past, women traditionally tended to stay at home and did daily housework routine, including cooking, cleaning, taking care of children, etc. In this way, they were overwhelmed by too much work.

could you please check sentences above?

It's correct.
I'd probably write "... tended to stay at home and do all the housework ...", which means "... tended to stay at home and [[tended] to] do all the housework ...".
If I used 'did', I'd put a comma before it. In that case, it would say, "They tended to stay at home, and [they] did all the housework."

Thanks Raymott. :up:You have given a really useful tip. Because I often use parallel structures in my essays, this point will be so practical and helpful.

Are you suggesting that they got jobs outside the home so they would not be overwhelmed with work?

You can leave out "tended to" and use "stayed".
