There is a way of speaking that instead of using factual terms, you would describe in figurative or emotional terms. Common examples include seem, like, feel or believe. I cannot think of the word that describes this type of speaking/literary device. I am almost positive it starts with an E. Any ideas?

Thanks!

Evocative style?

Seem/like/feel/believe per se don't seem to me like figurative/emotional terms though.
