I have heard many people say "are you jealous?" and "did he say anything" with a different word stress. For instance, they don't put the word stress on Jealous, but instead, they put it on Jealous.
When people ask a question, are all syllables of the final word of a sentence stressed?
Or, like the case I have just mentioned, they increase gradually like "do re mi?"
Or neither? It all depends on the situation?
It seems that when people stress the final word like"do re mi,"
somehow they imply a sense of uncertainty, worry, sarcasm, etc.
I don't know if you guys understand what I am trying to say.
Did anyone experience the same situation as I did?
Thank you in advance!
