Word "willing"

I have tried to use "willing" in my sentence. Would you please correct my mistakes?

Despite the pressure from his children, the old man was not willing to sell his house and move to an old people's home.

You could also use these phrases "a nursing home", "an assisted living home", "a retirement home". Just wanted to give you a few more options.
