what does "mark around" mean? or is there a word? i couldn't find it anywhere..

I haven't heard of "mark around" before. Can you give me some context?

may be i heard it wrong...I guess it is meant to be doing unimportant stuff while you have a specific task to perform.
so what do u say that in one word?

In BE we use the term muck around.

'Stop mucking around and get on with your work'

Finding a job isn't easy. You can't muck around, you need to get your CV out there, where companies can see it.

Another expression for hanging around and not doing much of anything is "marking time". This refers to marching in place to the rhythm of music without moving forward. :wink:
