Hi there,

Any ways to memorise more English words? I easily forget the words i learnt.

Instead of learning IPA, another way I can learn in order to read a word which is unfamiliar to me in terms of its sound and meaning?

Thanks
pete

It's boring but put each new word on a small card along with one or two sentences using the word and put a translation into your language on the back of the card. Then go through your pile of cards 3 or 4 times a day. You should read the side written in your language and try to remember the word and example sentences you wrote on the other side of the card in English. When you have got it right 3 times in a row put the card aside but you should check that you still remember the word at least once a week for the next month.

As to the IPA you need to know it.

Hope that helps :)
