Hello, I'm considering teaching ESL after I graduate, and so I chose it to be the topic of my research paper on a specific vocation. However, I need to have at least two people complete a questionnaire. Would any of you teachers be willing to help me out and let me add this in to my paper?

What is your name?

What school are you currently teaching at?

How many years have you been teaching and where have you taught?

What certificates or degrees do you have?

What would you say is an average salary to expect in your area, and is it enough to live comfortably with?

What other benefits have you received?

Have you found this career a disruption of normal living standards?

Are you satisfied with your choice to teach EFL?

What is your favorite part of teaching EFL?

Thanks so much to anyone who does respond.

I'm not the typical full-time ESL teacher, since I've always taught adults at night school classes, but here are my responses, for what they're worth.

What is your name?
Oriole

What school are you currently teaching at?
Not currently working at any particular school. I work with a program that teaches ESL to adults at various locations.

How many years have you been teaching and where have you taught?
I taught ESL for adults at night classes for many years (note: do you really think I'm going to reveal my age?? ;-) via a program affiliated with the University of Detroit.

What certificates or degrees do you have?
Bachelor's in English, Specialist Certificate in Teaching ESL

What would you say is an average salary to expect in your area, and is it enough to live comfortably with?
Cannot answer this; have always taught ESL part-time (evenings) in addition to my regular day job.

What is your favorite part of teaching EFL?
Hard to choose a favorite, but I always get a kick out of someone asking about song lyrics or a snippet of dialog from a popular movie. The English involved almost always involves slang and idioms, and it's fun to temporarily step away from grammar and syntax and to just teach "street" lingo.

Thank you so much for your response! I tried to private message/email you, but the system wouldn't let me, so I'm hoping you will see this here. Is it possible for you to message me your full name? I completely understand if you don't want to, but my teacher is likely to think it illegitimate without it.
