Would it be possible to shift this event two or three months backward or forward"?

Suppose there is an organisation that conducts or organises a sport event in the month of May every year. There are few people who are a big fan of this event but because of their busy schedule it becomes hard for them to follow this event. They would like this event to be shifted either two months back or forward (I am not sure what to write here instead of "back and forward"). They want to send them a written request so what they can write? "It becomes very difficult for us to follow the event. Would it be possible to shift this event two or three months backward or forward"?

Yes. They can write like that. It is understandable. But use "it is difficult..." instead. You could also say "move...earlier or later".

Actually, "follow the event" is ambiguous. If you mean to attend the event, you should use "attend".

Actually it is not clear whether they are going to watch this event on TV or they will go to the stadium. But if we want to say that we will be present at the stadium during the match then we need to say "attend the event" is it correct?

They don't work for me. I'd say bring ... forward and put ...back

"bring the event three months forward" is okay to me but I wouldn't prefer it.

I'd use "bring the event forward three months" or "put the event back three months".
