Hi,

1- When I was a child, I used to love/like you. (It is OK)
- When I was a child, I would love/like you.

2- People used to believe that the sun went around the world. (It is OK)
- People would believe that the sun went around the world.

I am aware I must use 'used to' in those sentences, but I would like to ask if the second ones used with 'would' are OK or not.

Thanks.

They're not.

"Would" can be used to talk about a habitual past action, but not an ongoing feeling or emotion as you have tried to do.

When I was a kid and I had been naughty, my dad would hit me with a table tennis bat.
As a teenager, when my parents went out for the evening, I would invite my friends round and we would raid the alcohol cabinet!
