What do you think about it?
Is it easy to write a novel?

I've got the idea and story-line for it, but I couldn't able to write much about it, since my English is not really good.
I like making new ideas but I dont write them down.

Im in a dilemma, so help me! please!

Writing a novel and getting it published are two different things. Go ahead and write your ideas down, though, as it's good practice. I'm a writer (non-fiction), and I know from experience that if I don't write down an idea at the moment it occurs to me, I'll forget it that quickly.

Even if you don't write down your thoughts in a proper book format now, it's important to actually record them, either on paper or on your computer. You can always go back later and improve/correct your sentences and formatting. :)

Are there any books that you have published? or you're just writing them for fun?

I had a mind that Im going to write down all the ideas such as characters, settings, scenes, etc. But Im gonna ask someone to write down the story from the beginning to the last. Since my English language is not really good, so i couldn't write them down perfectly.

I've had four books published thus far. I also have many magazine articles under my belt, and have written for CNN Headline News. (I specialize in trivia and trivial facts, such as "What's the difference between a pig and a hog?")

I seem to like this discussion.

Hi Ouisch,

How do get so much topics to talk about? Example if one works as a writer in a newspaper, he/she should be writing different topics daily. How do you get the list of topics?

I'd like to write someday, the reason I'm practicing my English so much. My books would be non-fictional as well but more about humanity, life and purpose... And since I'm quite crazy about religion/spirituality I'd write my thoughts about it later on.

That's the secret - write about something that interests you, or that you have a strong opinion about.

As for my work, I get my inspiration from the world around me. Luckily, I've always had a curiosity about very mundane and ordinary things, such as Why don't male ballet dancers dance on their toes? Why do they sterilize the arms of condemned prisoners before administering the lethal injection? Why do all newborn babies have pug noses? What was the first film shown aboard an airplane? What's the difference between a dead end street and a cul-de-sac? Things like that give me plenty of material to write about. And when a deadline is staring you in the face and you're sleep-deprived, you'll find inspiration in the strangest places - like in the bathroom ("Hmmm....I wonder who invented toilet paper?") ;-)

Wow!

Yes, I've been hearing/reading about that, how other people get their ideas from very simple things they have witnessed in their day. Well, thanks a lot for the idea Ouisch. Perhaps, I can do well with that to practice with.
I've been thinking of writing an essay everyday, and get it checked it here in the forums. I think that will give me a lot of firsthand knowledge about writing.
