Our holiday isn't for weeks yet.

what is the meaning of "yet" in the sentence above? I am not an English native, I wonder its sense in this context.

Good day.

Good day.

Where did find this sentence?
One interpretation could be that the speakers expect to spend more than one week on holidays, so it isn't for weeks yet, but will be in the future.
More context would help.

It means: Our holidays haven't started yet; they don't start for another few weeks.
It doesn't sound like a very logical way to say it, but that's what it means.

Adding a vote to Ray's explanation. They are still a few weeks away.
