UsingEnglish.com ESL Forum FAQ

We have a set of rules that govern what you can and can't do on this forum. They are designed to make sure this forum remains a fun place to be for everyone.

Use of this forum implies that you agree to accept and abide by the forum rules. Please make sure that you read and understand the rules listed on this page.

Use the Quick Links menu to navigate to your profile. In the Forum Info section you will see two options:

- Find all posts by MEMBERNAME
- Find all threads started by MEMBERNAME

Click one of the links to display all relevent posts.

If you wish to subscribe to or unsubscribe from our monthly newsletter, please go to your "Edit Options" page. From there, select your preference in the Messaging & Notification section and click "Save Changes". This setting can also be changed within the site Members' Area from your Preferences page.

New Members move up in rank in the following order:

• 0 posts - Just Joined
• 1 post - Newbie
• 35 posts -Junior Member
• 100 posts - Member
• 500 posts - Senior Member
• 1500 posts - Key Member
• 5000 posts - VIP Member

You are able to change your email address and your account password whenever you want from your User Control Panel. Please follow these instructions:

1. Log in to the site forum at http://www.usingenglish.com/forum/login.php
2. Go to your User CP (User Control Panel) by clicking the link at the top of the forum.
3. In the left menu, click on "Edit Email & Password"
4. Enter your current password in the box called "Enter your present password to continue"
5. [Optional] If you want to change your password, enter your new one in the space provided.
6. Enter your new email address in the boxes called "New Email Address", and "Confirm New Email Address"
7. Click "Save Changes".

Then follow any additional instructions you are given.

You are able to make a request to change your username whenever you want by contacting the the forum staff.

Please follow these instructions to request a name change:

1. Log in to the site forum at http://www.usingenglish.com/forum/login.php
2. Go to the contact form by clicking the 'Contact Us' link at the bottom of the forum.
3. In the message body make sure you send us a few choices for your new username (each username has to be unique and your first choice may already be taken).
4. Click "Send".

Note: You must be logged in to the forum to make this request. This is so that we can be sure that it is a qenuine request from you and not somebody pretending to be you.

Your request then will be dealt with by a member of staff who will contact you again once the change has been made.

Forum Assistants are members who are language experts or English teachers, and they are here to help keep things running smoothly and to answer any questions you might have.

The forum Staff is a restricted group made up of Tdol and Red5 who own and run the UsingEnglish.com website and forums. Tdol is a professional English language teacher, and Red5 is the site Webmaster.

We remove any email addresses from posts made by members when we can. This is because we believe that it only encourages email spam. If you post your email address in a public place like a forum you are allowing spammers to take it and bombard you with unsolicited emails.
