Who can force us to stay in hospital?

The hospital can make it very difficult for you to leave if they consider that you are too ill to do so. Also you can be forced to stay by your incapacity to leave.

And, for a serious enough crime, a friendly policeman will be stationed outside of your room to make sure you don't try to flee.
