Hello,

I will be applying for the CELTA course in Dundee and I need your help to make sure my answers are correct to the following questions:

Underline the Mistake, Write the correct and explain why ?

1. Can I help you ? Yes, I've left my luggages on the train ?
Because Luggage is in itself a plural while seems as a singular, so it should be LUGGAGE

2. Have you got a ticket? Yes, I've bought one last week
There is no need to use HAVE as the action is in the past.

3. Has Sarah beeb ill? she's lost a lot of weight
yes, she's really slender now, isn't she ?
The word slender does not really describe Sarah now and we might use the word thin

4. Why did not you phone me last night? Because I did my homework
the correct version is , I was doing to show the status of being busy finishing his homework.

Thanks

Correct, luggage is fine.

2. Have you got a ticket? Yes, I've bought one last week
There is no need to use HAVE as the action is in the past.
Yes - I bought my ticket last week.

3. Has Sarah beeb ill? she's lost a lot of weight
yes, she's really slender now, isn't she ?
The word slender does not really describe Sarah now and we might use the word thin
If you're actually trying to suggest that she's lost too much weight, hence the assumption that she's been ill, then "thin" or "skinny".

4. Why did not you phone me last night? Because I did my homework
the correct version is , I was doing to show the status of being busy finishing his homework.
Correct - I was doing. But the question should be "Why didn't you...." or "Why did you not..." but not "Why did not you...?"

Thanks

See above.

I do not think it's ethical for us to confirm the correctness of your answers.

I'm generally quite happy to confirm if people are correct, as it helps to reinforce the fact that they really are getting to grips with the language!

If answers are wrong, we sometimes correct, and sometimes we simply give a hint and give them another chance.

Thank you very Much ..
Sorry for : Why did not .. It was my mistake

Thanks again ..
