[Grammar] Formal and informal writing

Hi All,

Could you please give some help if the verbs are correctly used as formality?

come up with = develop
make up= constitute
get rid of= eliminate
go up= reach
keep up=maintain
go down= decrease
look over= review

get rid of= eliminate
go up= reach -- Depends on context, but "increase" would be a better choice than "reach" in most situations I can think up
keep up=maintain
go down= decrease
look over= review

The sentences are below and the clues come after the questions:
Which are correct?

-Rice products make up the major part of the diet of the people...

-World wide cosumption of pesticides has gone up to 2.6 milion etrics tons.

The clues are: reach /develop/constitue/

If those are your choices, then you need to use "reach" but the better choice would be "increase."
