They are rarely adverbs at all. Most often they modify nouns (adverbs modify verbs, adjectives or other adverbs).
I'm not a teacher.
 
What type of adverb are these?


Disjuncts...

First, you must wash the car; second, take out the garbage; and third, walk the dog.

Maybe... there isn't much information concerning their adverbial use.

I'm not sure how's about the other ones, but "first" doesn't have to be a disjunct:
Do your homework first and then you can watch the movie.

Ordinals seem to be versatile. I haven't given them much concern until now. Adjectives, adverbs--they are capable of modifying much.
