Hi all,
This is sort of the suject of a previous post of mine. If you've already watched the "Extra" series, there's a guy called "Nick" who kind of fancies his neighbour "Bridget", for whom he's got some special feelings. In some episodes, he shows very sensitive when he notices some other guys fancy her or try to get closer to her (by making a face, wanting to punch them in the face! and so on). Apart from "jealous", how would you describe him and his feeling towards the girl? (I've already had the word "possesive", as he feels possesive towards her...)

Many thanks.

I'd appreciate it if somebody helped me with this. Thanks

protective?

Thanks. Well, I can use it. And I just wonder if there was an adjective used uniquely when the feeling is for the opposite sex, say one's girlfriend or wife. A good thing about "protective" is it is positive, while "Possesive" might give a negative feeling. (And I'm looking for both, positive, and something over the top!) Thanks again dear Tdol.

You can also use "over-protective", but that gives a slightly negative edge to an otherwise positive adjective.

Thanks. How about the preposition? "Towards"?

Cheers!

To be protective of somebody
