Would you tell me whether there is proper usage of the different collocations of “dub” in the following sentences?
He has dubbed his website "the people's intelligence agency" and is a thorn in the side of most national governments.
A man of wealth is dubbed a man of worth.
dub = call; entitle; give a nickname to
The film, originally shot in Italian, was dubbed into English for its American release.
dub = double
His diadem was dropped down dubbed with stones.
dub = adorn
The king dubbed his son Henry a knight.
dub = raise (someone) to knighthood
Dub music from CD to tape
dub = make a copy of a recording
[FONT="]a thorn in somebody’s side = [/FONT]someone or something that continually causes problems
a thorn in the flesh of someone
