Hi,
Could anyone please tell me the name for this kind of toy (?!) in the form of a box or an egg with some tiny toys and gifts inside. Children buy them at a fixed price, but they may contain different small toys.

Thanks a lot.

Whenever I have seen them, they have been known as 'Kinder' eggs. I am not sure if this is because they originated in Germany (Kinder being the German for children) or because it's the brand name. My honorary grandson is away at the moment, so I can't check.

PS: I found this sentence funny:
:)

Yes! I hear it's also called "lucky egg"! Mmmm...once I saw something called "a quaker jax" if I'm not wrong. They were wooden boxes containing some toys. (it was a cartoon, by the way! ;-)) I wonder what that was!

Could it have been a cartoon rendering of something like Crackerjacks - Vyhledávání Google ? These are not toys, but there may have been toys called 'Cracker Jacks'.
