In the 1935 film A Tale of Two Cities, I heard

Ðæts ə kəʊɪn'saɪdəns tu:. Ðæts wɒt aɪ meɪd əv ɪt miself.

Have you ever heard this pronunciation of "coincidence"? Why did the man use it?
 
It's not a pronunciation I have come across. It might be meant ironically.
 
Was it said by a 'lower-class' character - i.e. one who might be expected to mispronounce big words?

ps. Oh, I see that konungursvia suggested this point in the other thread.
