Please explain to me what is the meaning of "by an extraordinary reversal" in the sentence - By an extraordinary reversal, the use of the trustes is less favoured in these jurisdictions. Thank you

We need more context. What jurisdition, what trustees?

Thank you.

The context is as follows:

"However, in some case, eg Belgium, a corporate SPV is a permitted alternative. By an extraordinary reversal, the use of the trust is less favoured in Anglo-American jurisdiction s, probably because..[reasons]............"

Sorry, olegv, but there is still not enough context to tell what has been reversed.

Thank you.

The context is as follows:

"However, in some case:-?S:-?, eg Belgium, a corporate SPV is a permitted alternative. By an extraordinary reversal, the use of the trust is less favoured in Anglo-American jurisdictions, probably because..[reasons]............"

The writer would expect the use of the trust to be more favoured in those countries (for reasons that have presumably been made clear in the wider context of the book, or in the '[reasons]' you've omitted). Less => more is a reversal, and the writer regards it as extraordinary.

Thank you - can I paraphrase and say instead - Due to the opposite reasons, the trust is less favoured in Anglo-American jurisdictions? Thank you

 The writer hasn't said what reasons this is 'opposite' to.
