Hi

Is it OK to say:


If you want to come up with good ideas you have to start thinking outside the box.
 
That sounds fine to me.

I would include a comma between "ideas" and "you".
 
It's a bit cliched, but the grammar is OK if you add a comma. A "then" would fit in nicely as well.
