Hi All

Can indirect object of an active sentence be the subject of passive sentence? For example....

Rita wrote a letter to me (Active sentence. "Letter" is object and "me" is indirect object.

A letter was written to me by Rita (regular passive sentence)

I was written a letter by Rita (possible ???)

Thanks

Welcome to the forum, murat guler. :hi:

I wish that all our members gave their threads such useful titles as yours.

Your particular example is unnatural, in my opinion. but the recipient of an action can indeed be the subject of a passive sentence:

They gave me a bouquet.
I was given a bouquet.
