We don't do your homework for you. Look up all the words in a dictionary and tell us which one you think is correct.

This is not my homework. This is a question that I'm uncertain about it's meaning. I don't know whether B or C is correct. I have included the two answers in my head in the subject of my post. I have also looked the word up in the dictionary and this is what I found.

Diagnose (die)

nf. diagnosis, medical opinion, process of identifying a disease from its symptoms, judgement, assessment, opinion

"b" is correct.

Why is C incorrect ?

A diagnosis is the result of a doctor finding out what is wrong with you, not what isn't wrong with you. You can't be diagnosed with nothing. You are diagnosed with an illness or a disease. The sentence says "... there was nothing seriously wrong with me." That is not a diagnosis.

Could there be a grammatical reason for why B is correct and C incorrect? Or is it only because of the meaning ?

I see little point in analysing whether a meaningless sentence is grammatically correct.

My widow and I sleep alone with all our unborn teddy bears in a wide, narrow pancake is meaningless. The fact that it is 'acceptable' grammatically is irrelevant.

 Besides, it would be a pretty impoverished grammar that made no provision for semantics. 'There is nothing wrong with this man' is just not a diagnosis.

They all fit grammatically; they are all past participles. So it has to be based on meaning.
