[Essay] The best way to improve my writing?

Hello everyone,

I'm in IGCSE and taking English as a second language. Actually, my English has improved a lot, especially in reading I never lose a mark in now. But in the writing section, I lose a lot. So does anyone here know a good way to improve it?

My problems:
1-Lack of points
2-I know a lot of vocab. Apart from I always forget them, I can't use them in a natural way.
3-I can write in some writings I used to read about and used catching-sentences method. But I can't in others.

I agree with konungursvia. The more you read, the more you will pick up on sentence constructions, new vocabulary and see how different types of writing are laid out. You can also write short pieces for practice and post them in the "Editing and Writing Topics" of this forum and we will comment.
