McDonald's started a bit of a revolution with its "I'm lovin it" advertising campaign. I suppose it won't be too long before we hear "I've been lovin' it for 10 years".

There are over 250 citations for present continuous forms of LOVE, 23 of them followed by 'it'. It's OK.

It always was - in the right context.

Indeed it was, but it has become a fairly common form since McDonald's started using it.

The point is that verbs themselves don't determine whether they are stative or dynamic. It is the use of those verbs that determines the status.

Of course, but that status will still ultimately depend on which definition of stative you subscribe to!
