I'm writing a script:

Toby sits at the back of the bus, Will a few seats ahead (of him).

Do I need 'of him' here or is it OK without?

Toby sits at the back of the bus, Will a few seats ahead in front (of him).

It's OK without, but note that "in front" is more natural than "ahead".

I don't think ahead is right. You need 'in front'.

Isn't that exactly what I said 90 minutes before your response?!

You said 'in front' is "more natural" than 'ahead'. I'm going further and saying 'ahead' is wrong.
