I got a trouble at Q10 In the Quiz about And&But conjunction exercise. My answer is ‘’But’’ but the true answer is ‘’And’’.
In my opinion the first clause ‘’It cost a lot of money’’ expresses a good Item and the second clause expresses this Item is not good.
The two clauses contradict each other, so I put ‘’But’’ in the blank.

I have not enough conditions to insert image, so I quote the Q10 below:

Q10 - It cost a lot of money ____ I was very disappointed because it didn't work properly.

How is it that something that costs a lot of money is a good thing?
Both points are negative, so I'd say "it's expensive and doesn't work properly".

It cost a lot of money but it didn't work. (If it cost a lot, you'd expect it to work well. However it didn't. So you can use "but" to express the "however" part.)

It cost a lot of money and I was disappointed it didn't work. (It cost a lot of money and so, as a result, I was disappointed that it didn't work.)

I'd definitely go with 'and' in this case. Think of it this way: 'It cost a lot of money - and on top of that I was very disappointed because it didn't work properly.'

A user's first ten posts have to wait for moderator approval. It's one of the tools we use to weed out trolls and spammers. The underlined sentence above doesn't make any sense (as you've already been told) and it's ungrammatical. It should start with "I thought I did not have enough ...". We don't say "enough any". What do you think "conditions" means?
