Hello, I was doing a quiz on English grammar when I was presented with a question that asked which sentence was correct:
"Are you comfortable with the idea of my joining you?"
"Are you comfortable with the idea of me joining you?"

I chose the second sentence but it seems that it was wrong. I did a research on google on my and me with gerunds and it seems that both are correct, but I still have some doubts left. Is "Are you comfortable with the idea of me joining you?" actually incorrect?

The quiz I did: https://www.ba-bamail.com/quizzes/quiz.aspx?quizid=486

Thank you for your time

Note my corrections above.

Both are acceptable in BrE. The majority of native speakers would use "me" but some of us would still use "my".

Do both sentences mean the same in this case?

The first puts the emphasis on 'joining you' (... or would you rather I Skyped you?).

The second puts the emphasis on 'me' (... or would you rather have my sister join you?).

Both are fine in American English.

I'd probably say, "May I join you?" or "Mind if I join you?"
