I tried to make two sentences but I am not sure if they are correct. Can you tell me if the following sentences are grammatical and have same meanings?

1) Because of have been living abroad for a long time I hadn't been aware of the legal changes of my country.
2) Because of have lived abroad for a long time I wasn't aware of the legal changes of my country.

The part beginning "Because of" is incorrect in both.

Because I have been living abroad for a long time, I wasn't aware of the legal changes in my country.
