Hello!

I have two questions regarding the following sentence:

-You have to choose between the blue and the white categories.

1-Is the use of "and" correct here? Should it be "or"?

2- Is the use of the plural form (categories) correct here?

Thanks a lot
Will

1. Yes, and is correct here. It is and because you have already indicated a choice by using between.
To use or you could word it something like this:
You must choose the blue or the white category.

2. Yes, again - in this case the plural is correct because you are choosing between 2 things. In the alternative I gave in part 1 you use the singular because you are indicating that you must choose only one.

A subtle difference but that's the English language for you.
