Hi all,

Beth: We are going to rob that store!

Ruby:Have you lost your mind?
Ruby:Did you lost your mind?

Could you please help me to understand the differences between the italic sentences? Which answer is fine to be used in that context.

but the past simple is not appropriate in that context in BrE.
Present perfect here refers to the action that just/recently happened and have a result in the present time which is "He is going to rob a store". Is this analysis OK?

Her loss of mind is important at the time of speaking - it affects the present.
