As it says in the forum guidelines, this forum is to discuss language. We welcome specific questions about specific aspects of the English language.

Your profile shows that you are an English teacher (I'm afraid that I'm with Rover on this one - that's a rather alarming fact given the errors in the original post). There is actually a separate section of the forum for teachers to talk to each other. The same guidelines apply there though - post in good written English with correct spelling and punctuation, and explain clearly what your exact question is.

Indeed

But the 'professor' thing is a mistake that's easily made. It has a lot of cognates in languages where it just means 'teacher', and even in universities the rate of exchange between US professors and UK ones is about 100:1!

Both ;-). The bar is much higher in UK universities. In the US even a lowly post-grad can be called 'Assistant Professor' - it just means they teach a few classes.
