Hello everybody,
this is my first post, so thank you first of all for all the things I've already seen in this forum.
I'd like clarification on the following:
"...predictions on global warming effects are inaccurate."
and
"It is only a media pushed issue that ..."
I have a problem with the underlined constructions. They sound wrong to me and I would write "effects on global warming" and "issue pushed by the media".
But are the original constructions actually wrong and if they are, what's the grammatical reason for it? Or are they ok and it's just about style? Which one woud then be preferable in a scientific essay format? Again, I would choose my construction, but lack the rules to explain "why".
