Hi everyone

Are these two sentences both correct? Can I use Present Perfect Simple and Present Perfect Continuous interchangeably here?

1. Meet John, who is a traveller. He has been staying in cheap hotels and royal palaces.
2. Meet John, who is a traveller. He has stayed in cheap hotels and royal palaces.

They are both posssible but mean slightly different things.

In #1 there is s suggestion that his stays in hotels have been recent, and may even be continuing.
In #2, his stays may not have been recent, and there may be no prospect of such stays in the future.
