Hello
I had to choose the correct answer. I chose the second sentence. Am I right?

I and they are friends -is wrong in my opinion

They and I are friends-is correct.

'They and I are friends' is generally preferred.

However, you rarely encounter this in real life. The sentence cannot stand alone; it has to occur in a context where 'they' have been identified. After that we generally say 'We are (all) friends'.

I'd like to introduce you to Harry Stweed and Candice Tripe. We are all friends and members of the same Clothing Material Appreciation Society.

Depending on how exactly the conversation goes, we might say:

I'm friends with them.
They're my friends.
We're friends.
