"I remember you used to like the guy who likes reading" Is this correct?
or
"I remember you used to like the guy who liked reading" Or is this one correct?

Should we use 'like' or 'liked' in this situation?

Both are possible if the guy still likes reading. Only 'liked' is possible if he no longer likes reading.

M: Hey, Beth. Who is the boy you have a crush on?
W: He's not here.
M: I remember you used to like the guy who likes reading. (IS THIS CORRECT?)
w: I used to, but not anymore. I like someone who is outgoing.

It's correct if the guy still likes reading, as I said.

Hello.
May I ask a question here?

Please look at these sentences below:

1. I remember you used to like a guy/boy who likes reading.
2. I remember you used to like boys/guys who like reading.

Do #1 and #2 mean the same as the original sentence in post #3?

Thank you.

Thank you, 5jj.:-D

So, am I correct in saying that #2 refers to "boys in general" who like reading?
(I thought the OP might have intended the original to mean #2.
Well, probably not. "The guy" in the original is the 'specific' person both M and W know.)

This suggests that you think a guy who likes reading is unlikely to be outgoing. Is that what you meant to do?
