Is <'s> in the sentence no longer used to show possession of smth/smb

For example, I want to say that our system tracks the attendance of live lesson students.

Our system tracks students' attendance during a live lesson.

I often notice that some Grammar apps remove 's from the sentence is that correct?

In addition to Tdol's response I would hyphenate "live lesson" in your first sentence, as "live-lesson".

I don't understand what the sentence means. How many lessons are you talking about? If you use tracks, that suggests you're talking about multiple lessons across a course, but your use of the singular a live lesson suggests you're talking about one lesson. And what do you mean by during? Are you saying the system keeps a record of when students log in and out of lessons, while they're in progress? Or just that it records whether they log in in the first place?
