Which are correct:

1) I left my nephew with them to take care of.

2) I left my nephew with them to take care of him.
They are supposed to take care of my nephew.

3) I left my nephew with them to teach English.

4) I left my nephew with them to teach him English.
They are supposed to teach my nephew English.

Gratefully,
Navi.

They are all incorrect. They say that my nephew is going to do the action.

1) is an incomplete sentence. The others are grammatically ok but illogical.

I think the following are logical.

'I entrusted them with the care of my nephew.'
'I entrusted them with teaching my nephew English.'

I left my nephew with them for them to take care of (him).
I left my nephew with them for them to teach (him) English.

I left the care of my nephew to them.
I left them to teach my nephew English.
