McCarthy’s Lie Puts G.O.P. Hypocrisy on Trump on Display
Representative Kevin McCarthy’s false claim that he never urged President Trump to resign has drawn little outrage from members of his party.

I understand "GOP Hypocrisy on Trump" as "GOP Hypocritical Treatment of Trump". Am I on the right track?

It's broader than treatment. I would say it means "The GOP's position on Trump".

It helps in some way, yet it leaves out the most important word hypocritical. So I wonder whether you mean "The GOP's hypocritical position on Trump". That is: the GOP doesn't sincerely treat Trump.

Hypocrisy on someone means Using someone as a tool for one's own end. I think.

The hypocrisy here is that they say one thing and do another. McCarthy pretends to support Mr Trump and then doesn't defend him.

It is the usual conduct of politicians, always and everywhere: try to please everyone. There are no moral or ethical principles involved.

Trump was a wrecking ball to the political establishment. They may have privately worried about him or not liked him, but he was too popular for them to oppose publicly.

So, yeah, like probus said. Politicians always and everywhere will say different things in public than they do behind closed doors.
