Mist is used in the same way as crap or bugger might be used in English. It’s relatively inoffensive and can be used to express mild negative emotions. You know, when something isn’t enough to ruin your day, but you wish it hadn’t happened.

I do not understand the meaning of bolded sentence.

It's something that is unpleasant but doesn't put you off a great deal.

Always tell us the source and author of any text you quote, please.

You don't often get a reply unless you do.

Also, try to tell us exactly which part of the sentence you don't understand.

If I could figure out what that (above text) means I could respond to it.

What exactly do you not understand? The meaning seems to be very clear from the words used. Also, the sentence containing the bold phrase you are asking about is an explanation of the previous sentence, which talks about mild negative emotions.

Do you understand the sense of mild negative emotions?

As it's something negative, they probably hope they don't happen, but there's nothing there to imply that they expect them not to happen IMO.

I wouldn't have removed that link had you made it clear in post #1 that "Mist" is a German word and that we would need to scroll down to #13 on the linked website in order to see the original.
When I first clicked on the link, I couldn't see anything relevant about German slang words.
