[Vocabulary] shuttle

In the following sentence, 'shuttle' is used unjustifiably because the context does not make it clear whether the ambulance travels habitually between these two places. Maybe. the authors intended to write 'trundle' or something like that.

The ambulance drives off, lights and sirens fading as it shuttles onto Nassau Street.

It's fine to me. See intransitive verb definition #1 & 2

Think of the ambulance as a shuttle, with its home base being the hospital. It makes frequent trips from the hospital to various locations and back.
