Hello,

I am just not sure which one below sounds more naturally? Or is there a better way to express the same meaning?

Thank you very much!

"I have to supplement/complement/append the relevant information in this field of the form."

I want to make sure I understand field of the form. Does it refer to a text box on an online form?

- Supplement and append usually mean add at the end (as a supplement or in an appendix). You probably want one of those.

- Complement usually means complete, as in: A slice of lemon complements iced tea perfectly. You probably don't mean that.

Other notes:

Naturally is an adverb. Natural is an adjective. That's what you want.

When comparing two things, use more. When comparing more than two, use most.

Only end questions with question marks. End statements with periods.

"Attach/attachment" is more commonly used in online forms.

Do you mean that you have given insufficient information and need to add more?

Yes! For the first time I've already filled in most parts of the form and but left some fields as blank. That's because I didn't know what kind of infomation I should provide. After check with my colleague, I knew. So I have to supplement/complement/append the relevant information in this field of the form.

It's an online form with many required information I should put in the relevant fields, e.g. entity name, address, turnover, LEI code etc.. But I didn't know what's LEI code then, so I checked with my colleague. After I got LEI code, I have to supplement/complement/append the relevant information in the field of the form. Because first time I left it as blank.

is this the situation when I attach a document in the online form? if so, "attach" is a better choice?

You are making things hard on yourself for no reason.

Or simply "I have to fill in the rest of the form."

Thank you! You're right, sometimes I am, maybe it's common for a language learner?

But is there a way using supplement/complement/append to express the same meaning naturally?

Thanks a bunch! :)

Those words don't mean the same thing, so you can't use them the same way. Also, finishing a form is different from appending something to it.

Sometimes we look for something and miss what is right in front of us.
