Should I use "the" before "rap" and doesn't "to this genre" sound unnatural?

"I like all types of music except the rap. I love classical music. I always listen to this genre."

Definitely do not use "the" before "rap" when you're talking about the genre. Using "this genre" is fine - it's one of the few contexts in which the word is commonly used. However, I'm confused about the logic of your statement. If you always listen to classical music, then you never listen to any other kind of music. That doesn't really fit with the fact that you opened by saying you like all music except rap. It seems very unlikely that you would like so many different genres of music but only listen to classical.
