Hello.

Are the following sentences grammatically correct?

"The kids were in their seats waiting for the next number. Johnny appeared on stage to present the next number.

After a few jokes, Bernard showed up dressed as a clown. Beside him, Tim appeared dressed as a clown too. They made a comedy routine."

Thanks.

"The kids were in their seats waiting for the next number. Then Johnny appeared on stage to present it.

After a few jokes from Johnny (?), Bernard and Tim showed up dressed as clowns and performed a comedy routine."

Thanks.
If one person appears dressed as a a clown at the same as another person appears dressed as a clown, we say that two people appear dressed as clowns.
If their relative position is important, you can say they appeared side by side as clowns.
