In English, do you add "s" after the apostrophe of the possessive form of a name that ends with "s"?
For example, do you say "Chris's book" or "Chris' book"?
If it's "Chris's book", how do you pronounce the "s" after the apostrophe, or [z]?
Thank you.

Chris's = Chris-is.

I say Chris-iz.

I say Chris-iz.
So do I, but I'd use a schwa for the second 'i'. I'm pretty sure most people would say /z/ at the end.
I also write Chris' usually.

Style guides vary in their opinions about possessives of names ending in S. Many say that if you pronounce it, you should write it. I write Chris's.
